Background  
Al-Istiqamah mosque was started in 2000 in collaboration with the Young Women's Muslim Association (PPIS). It was formally registered under the Ministry of Education on 12 August 2003 and thus comes under the MUIS Joint Kindergarten Management Committee. In 2005, the Al-Istiqamah Mosque Management Board decides to take over the overall running of the kindergarten. However, the mosque retains most of its staff strength and also continues to adopt the same curriculum and approach to pre-school education.
        
Philosophy
Children should grow and learn in a healthy, stimulating and Islamic environment that combines learning and fun. They should also learn to be self-confident and indepentdent besides being creative, active and inquisitive learners.
